Hong Kong Trip Day 3

Oh I'm really happy, within days of posting, my recent post "Hong Kong Trip Day 2 Part 2" hit the weekly most viewed post. :)

I'm currently listening to Ella Koon's album which I had bought from Hong Kong. Blogging really makes me unwrap my stuffs, otherwise it's left there for "infinity and beyond"! :)

Morning
I was having difficulties waking up as usual. But I managed to get my butt off the bed at around 10am plus. We went to a nearby shopping center for our breakfast. Lesson learnt, pay more for better food. So we headed for a restaurant that's so crowded, we were even issued queue number.

While waiting, we walked a bit and I noticed there was a Popular there. Yes, Popular bookstore in Hong Kong, so that means there's a CD-Rama there too. And I was drawn there by some invisible force. I spent quite some time in there.

Firstly, I found something pleasing to the eyes. Jolin's Myself Pre-Order Version B - What I Want. One of the Jolin albums which I lacked in my collection. Didn't get it back then because I thought it will be a waste of money. I regretted.

Well the only difference is the free bag inside though. But oh well. :)

I didn't bring my Jolin CD with me to Hong Kong. Unexpectedly, I still get to hear her voice there. Ever since I swapped to her disc in Hong Kong, I've been listening to it till I came back to Singapore. Haha.

Next, I was searching like mad at the books section for Ella Koon's Yuan Lai Ni (原来妳). Imagine searching for a Chinese book among seas of Chinese book and your reading skills is only so-so. I even went up to ask the person at the cashier; they asked me to write the title of the book. I was like o.o. *Thinks in my head* "I... Can't really remember how to write it."

Ended up I wrote the wrong word for the first letter, oh well, they didn't manage to find it in their database anyway. The book's about a year old and she isn't some mega pop star either. Apparently, JOLIN'S NEW BOOK IS EVERYWHERE. I'm so tempted to buy it, but I've already pre-ordered it from the fan club. Do not wish to spend unnecessary money.

After buying Jolin's album, I happily stuffed it in my bag (it costed way more than 2 albums I bought yesterday 公主啊 公主) and I was called up for breakfast. They finally got their seat in the restaurant. Hong Kong's food wasn't exactly appetising to me. I still couldn't get pass the oily barrier. And they ordered Dim Sum too. So I ate quite little.

After breakfast, we went shopping a little. It was my mother's turn for her shopping spree. I was like uh huh, okay, this looks nice. But at the last minute, I got myself an Adidas shirt, and a random pair of Adidas socks. ❤

They went for dessert. I wasn't attracted to sweet things so I got myself a cup of corn soup at Mos Burgers instead. I "huh" at the counter twice before the cashier realised I couldn't understand Cantonese and spoke English to me instead. I don't look foreigner enough to you? (A)

We overstayed at that shopping center for quite some time. So we quickly took a cab to a museum that they wanted to go.

Afternoon
We reached the museum in the nick of time before it closes at 5pm. The museum showcases old rooms back in the olden days of Hong Kong. Apparently this house belonged to Hakka people, my ancestor? I got a bit of spooky feeling when I went in room after room. Or it's just my imagination?

Other than that, there were objects on display. That room was air-conditioned and brightly lit. I took photographs only of those that were interesting to me. My camera wasn't used much for these past 2 days.

Olden day books were interesting to me. It's more of the Chinese words though. I find traditional Chinese words extremely beautiful.

And photographs of the opening of Hong Kong Disneyland is interesting to me! Because it's Disney? XD

After the museum, the others headed back by taxi to the hotel. We weren't able to fit into one taxi because of the number of people travelling, and there wasn't 2 consecutive taxis together, so me and my mother decided to head back by public transport. Besides we have been travelling by the MTR for a few days.

And one more thing. Taxi rides in Hong Kong wasn't pleasant to me. The taxi drivers in Hong Kong wasn't exceptionally friendly, unlike those in Singapore. Coincidentally we found a small shopping center right beside the MTR station so we walked for a bit.

It was the last chance for me to search for the book I wanted. So my mother was sort of accompanying me looking at CD stores and book stores. Nothing was found in the end. And we headed back to the hotel since it's nightfall soon, and they were intending to head to another location for dinner.

Right at the hotel's MTR station, I spotted an ice cream truck. It was playing some cute melody. I wanted one and my mother got it for me.

I recalled I haven't take a photo of Eeyore in the hotel yet so I took it. I previously did the same thing when I brought Eeyore on a cruise. Well technically he's free, I just need to stuff him in my bag.

I had a light teabreak of spicy seafood Nissin cup noodles back at the hotel. And it was shared among several people because the aroma aroused everyone's hunger. So there goes about half of my cup noodles?

Night
Next, we headed to Mong Kok if I didn't remember wrongly. The place looked like some night market. Like the night life of Hong Kong. I liked it pretty much. Because there's so much to see on the streets and it was spacious enough to walk, unlike one of the Taiwan night market I have been to.

We went to a local cafe for dinner after searching for a decent place for food for a long time. Despite the food being oily as usual but I enjoyed it pretty much, at least the rice and the steamed vege isn't oily. And it's curry too! I ordered extra soup as well. :)

I saw a board that caught my attention when we were searching for the restaurant, but I didn't pause to take a photo of it because they seemed to be walking pretty fast. So after dinner, I was excitedly pointing at the direction that we came, telling them that I want to go back there again. I remembered the direction despite being a direction sense fool!

But we stopped at some shirts stand and bought a couple of cheap shirts. I was pretty hyper by then so basically when I see something I like, I just say "I want!" and I got a number of shirts for free, a treat by my aunty.

Finally, we were back at the place where I saw the board. I have been looking at advertisement boards ever since the first day I landed in Hong Kong, hoping to find someone I like on them. I recalled seeing 2 Jolin advertisement on the TV, one's Whisper, the other's Koobee.

Ella Koon's boards. Hee hee. :]
Oh yah, I know who's above. That's Rainie Yang.

A closer zoom up. :]
Acting like a small fan. There isn't much hardcore fans in Hong Kong, everybody seems so busy with life to bother about such stuffs.

Hee hee. Another one as we walked further. :]

The previous one was a bit dark so I zoomed out. I just noticed there was another smaller Ella Koon poster on the walls in the shop. :]

Okay. Imma happy now. Back to the shopping story.

We stopped at Crocs, I got myself a pair of Hello Kitty shoes. I was too hyper, and someone made me attracted to Hello Kitty stuffs for some weird reasons. We stopped at Bossini and Giordano too. Didn't got any stuffs afterwards.

Except my cousin who got an ice cream treat from me because I was very happy. And she found child size socks to match with the new Adidas shoe she bought. I think I'm a little mad now. Hee hee. I even saw Alice in Wonderland shirts in Mong Kok. A pity I didn't like the cloth material and the cutting of the shirt didn't suit me.

I spotted another CD shop at Mong Kok and I went there. Invisible force drawing me you see. I found the 2 CDs I bought at HMV, and what do you know, HMV is way cheaper. Unbelieving. So next time you wanna get any CDs from Hong Kong, get it from HMV, it is not a rip off.

I spotted another Ella Koon magazine as well, this time it's a weddings magazine. But it's too thick and kinda expensive. As well as my habit of reading and putting it there. But I think I got some images of it online afterwards.

Near Midnight
We spent a long time outside, maybe because it's the last day of free roaming. Tomorrow and the day after tomorrow is our Disneyland trip!!!

So this will be the last time I'll be taking Hong Kong MTR, I've got some pictures which I've taken shyly with my handphone camera. Hong Kong MTR's pretty much the same as Singapore but I feel it's much faster.

Not to mention it's awesome. Why? Because there's shops INSIDE the MTR station and there's toilet too. Shops include 7-eleven, food shops, clothes shops, bookstore, ATM too, ... So that means I can eat and drink there as long as I'm not on the platform. Long journey of walking when we were transferring were accompanied by those shops, unlike the cold walls in Singapore's MRT.

And I recalled laughing really badly on the 2nd day when I first board it. Because they will repeat the next station 3 times in 3 different languages, Cantonese, Chinese and English. The English version of the stops is just a rip off from the Cantonese word. At least Singapore took the effort to translate it.

So here's the station. The station looked different for different lines. This line is less crowded and so I dared to take out my camera.

Inside the MTR. No Michelle (my youngest cousin), I didn't mean to take you but thanks for looking at the camera.

The station names in Chinese, or should I say, Cantonese? I couldn't read quite a number of words. :/

And lastly the chair.

It's a long post, a long day. Let's make it a wrap. Day 4/5 will consists lots of Hong Kong Disneyland photos. Till then.

Running Dream

I'm going to do a short recollection of yet another dream I had. They said it's good to jot down dreams you have. This one is rather unique to me. Because it seems that everybody had running dreams so often, it's one of my rather uncommon dreams.

It happened yesterday so it's rather vague to me now. Basically I was among a crowd, all of a sudden, we were the targets of officers although we did nothing wrong. The most we did was refusal of doing something, or forgetting to do it.

So I was running and turning at corners smoothly, at amazing speed too I must say. It might be because of the games I played recently, an action running game, and an action/horror/strategy game that scared the hell outta me when I was playing it.

Finally when my energy was drained and I was tired of running, I entered an amusement park. I noticed the officers were still searching for me there. I saw a train ride in the amusement park. I paused for a moment and considered my chances. Afterwards, I stepped passed the queuing barrier, stood still, closed my eyes and waited for the train.

The train passed and nothing happened. I opened my eyes. With a slight feeling of disappointment. I made my body laid horizontal on the barrier, with head area on one side of one barrier, and legs area on the other side of another barrier, beneath me were the train tracks. The train passed me, and nothing happened again. My legs were not even injured.

And so I continued running, legs perfectly normal as before. Somehow due to some fortunate turn of events, I managed to turned into a corner and the officers lost sight of me. And I was searching for people. Anybody.

I found a group of people in a car and I tagged along. From then onwards, I threw my identity away. If anybody asked me anything, I would either not respond or I would speak very slowly with short sentences (respond consists of "Pika" only). I recalled seeing an image of a Pokeball before I started speaking that way.

Hong Kong Trip Day 2 Part 2

Afternoon
Let's pick up the story from the shopping center. Actually the question that is more interesting at the shopping center was what were my family doing when I was doing a CD hunt at HMV?

I have no idea where they were as I combed the shopping center, hoping to find more shops like HMV with treasures for me to loot. There was an Ella Koon magazine at HMV which looks appealing but I didn't bought in the end because I know magazine usually ends up with read once and put there scenario for me.

So there wasn't any more "interesting" shops to me except for a Marks and Spencer I found. And I bought 2 chocolate lollis, one for me, one for my cousin. :)

After combing the lower levels of the shopping center, I headed up and found my mother. She told me my cousin was at some children activity at the shopping center because there was a stage performance going on. Ooo... Talking about coincidences in life.

So I went up a little and found them. I went to say a quick "Hi" and continued searching. Umad? Yes. >:D

Blah, blah, blah. And then stomachache. So I headed to the toilet and there was like 2 woman in front of me, probably from China because she was speaking so loud I could hear every word clearly. She was saying the toilet here is very clean.

When I walked in, I was like, "Wow!". It's true, it's really clean.

Fast forward to the part where I handed the chocolate lolli to my cousin, I don't know what happened. She dropped it on the floor when she was unwrapping it. Too excited perhaps? Then she was sulking at it so my mother told me to share my chocolate lolli with her.

She took a small bite probably because she was feeling guilty and her younger sister took a whooping big bite. I was like *stares* at my chocolate lolli. Ended up I didn't ate much. She retreated me with another chocolate lolli, not as great as my Marks and Spencer's, but it's better than nothing. ;)

And that concludes the shopping center. So now moving on to more random walking!!!

Let the pictures do the talking. :)

Look who I saw?

Myolie Wu

Hong Kong's really great. You can see famous artistes just by randomly walking around. I wanna go there again!!! She's currently filming with other artistes. They all look awfully familiar but I only remember her and another girl. And we were allowed to take photo too, just no flash and no loud noises that's all. :)

Selena Li
I remembered her from "Survivor's Law II". Took me a while to recall though.

But I had to leave after a few minutes because apparently I was the only one interested in that. We were searching for "The Peak" at that time and I seriously had no idea what they were intending to do. We even took the local tram train and made a round to experience it.

What I like most? The chair, the breeze and the scenery on the tram train.

And there was yet another commotion brewing. Happening Hong Kong.

Seems they were protesting. For what issues I have no idea but everyone's curious.

But I guess this poster says all. No way would we say anything like this in Singapore out loud!

I spotted a Ding Tai Fung when I was on the tram (the same restaurant in Singapore) and I said I want that for dinner. Finally a satisfying one after one day of weird meal. I ate a lot, one bowl of noodle plus lots of side dishes. X3

I unwrapped Ella Koon's "Take A Shine To..." because I was curious after dinner and placed it in my CD player.

So now off to The Peak! We were pretty lost but we managed to find it eventually. My legs were tired too and I didn't like the crowd who's queuing for the ticket one bit because it's squeezy and hot.

Night
Hee hee. Eeyore showcase time!

Eeyore sitting on the handrail on "The Peak". I was afraid he will fall down so I only took 3 shots. The first one was too dark, this was the second one.

And that's the 3rd to show the scenery at the back and I wasn't lying when I said he's sitting on high grounds. Although what's exactly behind him wasn't a "bottomless pit". I wouldn't even die if I dropped from that height but I don't want him to get "hurt".

My cousin, Joelle. I wanted to take the scenery behind but I was too lazy to move and she happened to be there. Oh well, Smiles~

After that, I wanted to do more shopping because I wanted more loot but the others weren't keen. So my mother accompanied me for a while but as we realised most shops were closing, we headed back pretty fast. But somehow I got myself 2 new shirts on the way because I saw a doggy shirt!

I collect doggy shirts! :D

Taking the tram down "The Peak", me likes the glowing gears at the back.

Yup. The train coming up and that concludes my second day there.

Hmm although I recalled looking intensively at the new CD's lyrics book, and my aunty came into our room to use our hairdryer. I had no respond though cause I thought she was my mother. Only after the CD played finished then I realised she was there. Grandma was saying something like that's me when I'm with my CD.

That's me. The over serious Carrot.

Hong Kong Trip Day 2

Day 2 of Hong Kong trip consists of walking around, or let's say randomly walking around. I have no idea where they were intending to go except for shopping center locations and "The Peak" in Hong Kong.

We weren't following tour groups so we were heading to places by ourselves, with public transport and at our own pace, exactly what I liked. Slow and steady wins the race! The fun of travelling consists of getting lost too!

So I realised Hong Kong was a pretty good place to go for a short relaxation trip on your own, but the least you'll need is the ability to read Chinese words and someone whom can understand decent Cantonese. I couldn't get what they were speaking most of the times.

Morning
The Day started with us heading to nearby places from the hotel to eat. We randomly picked one shop in an attempt to try local delights. Ended up the thing that I liked most from our order was the Char Siew and Soya Bean Milk. Hong Kong's wanton mee wasn't up to my standard apparently. Bitter, oily and not enough chili!!! Clementi's wanton mee tasted way better! Or maybe it was just that store... ._.

The worst thing was we seemed to have been scammed by the stall owners because the price was ridiculously high. And for a non-satisfying breakfast too. So non-satisfying breakfast + non-satisfying dinner the previous night = Non-satisfied stomach. :(

Afternoon
Lunch was... Lunch was... What the hell was lunch exactly? I can't remember. Oh wait. I recalled. Lunch was at a local Macdonald because we were still full from our heavy breakfast. Despite being not tasty, the serving was extremely big. Macdonald means more oily food for my displeased stomach. So I probably only ate a couple of fries while emo-ing and listening to my CD.

Afternoon includes lots of randomly walking around on our own. I dumped too many things in my bag and the weight is hurting my shoulders. Plus the weather wasn't ideal and there were inconsiderate people smoking on the streets. The biggest problem was my legs weren't used to walking so they get tired easily.

I suggested to go to a shopping center so that the temperature will be more pleasant and there wouldn't be smokers around.

And that marks the start of my shopping spree!!!

I've already had a list of things to buy in my mind, CDs, Books, Magazines if I spotted those that I like on the cover...

Conveniently there was a HMV at the shopping center that I chose. And I noticed afterwards that there were only a few location with HMV in Hong Kong. Lucky me! :)

HMV wasn't expensive in Hong Kong surprisingly. Probably because I was buying Hong Kong's artiste CDs and there wasn't the import fee or probably because there's no GST in Hong Kong. And there could be even more reasons which will lead to political issues which I have no intention to say.

I found a new CD that I want straight away. But unhappy with my one CD loot, I searched seriously, one by one at the old CDs sections and finally found another one which I want!

Oh wait did I mention I told the adults I wanted to walk on my own in the shopping center? I couldn't possibly expect my mother to stare at me as I search for the CDs with an attempt to dig out old hidden treasure.

This is what I found!

Ella Koon's new album "Take A Shine To..." and her old album "Stages". Both couldn't be found in Singapore. So it was a fruitful day for me. Although I was hoping to find more but that's enough for now. :)

Why Singapore no import Ella Koon's new album???

She went to Malaysia recently for an autograph session too. Singapore just next door? But she didn't came. I'm guessing either it's too expensive here or because she doesn't have a fan base here. Let's hope more people will recognise her talents in the near future.

Ella Koon's New MV "由他去" (Let Him Be)

Ella Koon is a humble, cheerful and pretty girl whom can sing, play instruments and compose her own songs. More information here: http://www.ella.asia/bio/

I would like to do a dictation here but Jolin will get jealous. *Jokes* Actually I don't want my long paragraphs of words to scare people away. So I guess that short info will do, I keyed in enough keywords for it, so please appear in Google Search! :D

Hong Kong Trip Day 1

I'm in a mood to type today. Let's recall something that happened more than a month ago, on the 2nd of September. I was at the airport in the evening, feeling hungry and tried. I didn't sleep the day before because I was preparing for my portfolio submission.

Somehow I felt inner peace and calm. I had been to the airport a couple of times (without flying) these few years and happy memories linger there.

The floors and the glass reminded me of something.

As I was looking at it I recalled the time when Jolin left Singapore after her 5 days stay here, telling us to leave as we made our last journey as a knight during her stay in Singapore where we waited at the airport for her to send her off.

Followed by silently looking at her and her sister's back view as they walked and disappeared behind the walls. We had our sufficient share of waving that day though. :)

I paused at this location for a moment and it struck me that I've seen it before. We were sending F.I.R. off at that time and I awkwardly took a group photo with them.

So ended up I didn't eat anything as promised by the adults before boarding the plane. What can I say? The food at the airport is way too expensive!!! I was at terminal 3 by the way. And food on the airplane took long enough to serve too.

I didn't take the headphones when the air stewardess were giving out because I thought my headphone would work. Apparently, the plug didn't fit in. So... I went Zzzz.... But in fear of missing my food when it was served, I was half Zzzz-ing...

My cousins' meal came pretty fast though. And I was envying them. Why do kids get serve first? Next time I'm going to stuff myself silly before I board the plane! *Rage*

My meal came after hours and the serving wasn't ideal. There's bread though, which is supposed to make you feel more full but bread isn't an ideal dinner to me when I am very hungry. I ordered pasta by the way and I was like om nom nom nom. So when we finally landed in Hong Kong, I made my way to a nearby 7-eleven and bought instant noodles.

Somehow I was stuck with this full but not satisfied feeling and it carries on...

Talking about the hotel. It was SUPER BIG! And I have one queen size bed to myself. Hee hee. Nicely designed too. In my moment of relaxation, I totally forgot to snap a photo of it. And the first thing I did when I went there was to check whether was there internet connection and made a fb post to my friend.

I brought my laptop with me. To use it as a talisman to calm myself down and withdraw that black face of mine when something happened and it wasn't according to my plans. Ended up it was bulky but I enjoyed hugging it.

Was pretty addicted to fb back then because of the fb games I was playing, namely MapleStory Adventures and The Sims Social. The Sims Social died because I had way too little friends and it relies too heavily on friends. MapleStory Adventures just died on its own when a friend owned me at friend's ranking. I was 1st for a couple of weeks YA KNOW?

I belong to that 5% of girls gamer who play as a male character. :3

I might just have a lucid dream

Our thought recall process is very weak, regardless we are conscious, sub-conscious, or unconscious at that time. The moment someone breaks it with a causal conversation, you might forget it, unless you were focusing on it so hard for the past few minutes.

Since it is by the far the most "curious" incident I had in a dream. I decided to jot it down. The dream details are going to be short and sweet. I can't guarantee that for the explanations.

I was in a dream with Jolin walking beside me, suddenly a thought went through my head, I was telling myself, since it is a dream I might as well do something more than tagging beside her. And I reached up to grab hold of her hand and held it cross fingers style (maybe a bit forcefully).

No the main focus is not that I held her hands, the main focus is that I was actually aware, only for a split second though that I was in a dream.

It could have happened due to a few possibilities though. I am more aware of my conscious, sub-conscious or/and unconscious state(s). I am more aware of dreams, aware of dreams doesn't mean I know dreams exist, it means I have figured that I can make myself dream of a certain thing (mostly person/group of people) if I kept thinking about it for the whole day.

The last explanation is because I know that I kept dreaming of Jolin, thus my unconscious took it and used it in the dream. That sounds more logical though. Unless I can prove that lucid dreaming can happen for a split second.

Plus I have been wanting to say, I have been dreaming everyday nowadays. Even if the dream is vague or I barely can recall even the slight details, I knew I had dreamt. This make me pondered, did dreams always occur when I was young too when I kept wishing I had more dreams? Just that I wasn't aware enough to take note of it.

Someone told me that she kept dreaming of her idol too, I wondered how true it is, or it's fabricated. Because I know it is not easy to continuous dream of the same thing/person every night. Unless you have the same powers as me. ;)

Want to try it? Just think of that person for the whole day, he/she will come to meet you in your dreams. I am not sure how successful that is though, but just think of it so hard that nothing else matters to you in the world, it might happen. All the best. :)
