  1. Hi!
Thanks so much again for translating this song, I was so glad while subbing it XD
I just saw your message on Twitter, the point is, on Weibo most people know Chinese, so why would they be interested in a subbed MV? Unless you know that there are quite a lot of English-speaking people on Weibo?
I'm asking myself this since yesterday XD

  2. Well you're right. Didn't occur to me that they wouldn't need an English subbed video since they can understand Chinese pretty well.

All I thought was weibo had much more Jolin fans helping to spread the post around so more people would get to view your video. Just thought it's a waste that your videos aren't generating enough views.

And there are quite a number of English speakers on weibo; how many are there exactly, I'm not sure.

  3. That's very nice of you to think about that!
Maybe I could post them on my Weibo with links shortened like I do on Twitter, because I don't see myself getting an account on tudou or youku.
And after all, there's no harm in trying ^^

  4. If I'm not wrong, I think you can directly upload it to weibo with the video options. I think China peeps can't view youtube site...

  5. I see... >_< I'll upload them via Weibo then.

  6. Hi, can you tell me what it says?
I've been trying to upload my video via Weibo but they rejected it, and same goes for youku, & I can't copy-paste this message on Google translation:

  7. It means there's a problem with the internet, and it tells you to try it again later. I've been experiencing problems with weibo yesterday too. But it seems fine today. :)

  8. It still isn't working on Weibo & youku... Am I cursed or something? XD They don't want my videos lol

  9. Ah oh well. At least you tried. I've never tried uploading on China sites before so I'm not too sure either.

  10. I'll try in a few days from now... It's weird I already uploaded videos via Weibo & I never had this problem.

I would like to thank you again for providing translations, it's so great to finally understand what Jolin says in her songs!
By the way, where did you learn Chinese?

  11. I'm a Chinese! But I learnt English & Chinese both at the same time because it's a requirement in my country. :D

  12. Oh I see!
I feel like Chinese is quite a hard language to study.
I followed Chinese classes in college once (I feel like it was a billion years ago), but it's been a complete disaster XD
They hired someone from China, but he admitted the first time he saw us that he never taught anything in his entire life.
We were like WTF are they dumb in our college???
He was setting the bar way too high in most of his lessons.
But he was really nice & by the end of the year he was speaking French very nicely (he was talking to us in English during classes), so it was more us teaching French to him than him teaching us Chinese lol

  13. I agree that Chinese is hard to learn. My Chinese's been pretty bad even during the days when I was still studying it. However I slowly improved it through reading and writing (mostly Jolin related stuffs), like her weibo or forum or news.

However, speaking wasn't much of a problem to me when I was young. I just couldn't recognise the words and I can't write them without a dictionary. So I've got to say, Chinese words are easier to pronounce than English words.

  14. You learn easily when you do with something you like.
I improved my English by watching my favorite TV series subtitled (now I watch them without subtitles), or by reading books in English.
Someday I'd like to learn Chinese too. Thanks to Jolin I can recognize some signs now XD

  15. Ah that's great. So you learnt English by yourself? My Chinese improved too after I know Jolin.

  16. Actually I learned basics in school like everyone.
The thing is, in school in France (junior high, high school), they teach the basics to you, but you don't learn much vocabulary so it's really hard for you in the end to communicate and express yourself.
So most of the vocabulary I know I learned it by myself XD

BTW, I tried again to upload the videos on Weibo, but it's still not working!
I tried again on youku & it worked!!!

  17. I guess that's pretty much the same scenario for me when I was learning Chinese, so I slowly picked up the rest by myself too.

I saw your post on weibo and helped to "retweet" it. :)

  18. Hi, sorry to bother you again, but I wanted to ask you something...
I know you still have the songs from my list to translate, but this concerns Myself DVD, so we still have quite some time lol

I have a project quite huge in mind.
When this DVD will be released, I want to sub it.
I have translations for most of the songs but some of them are still missing, like the songs from her Universal era for instance.
So I would like to ask if you'd help me with this when the DVD will come out *-_-* *don't hit me* lol

  19. Okay sure. But I got assignment due soon, so I'll continue translating during November?

    ReplyDelete
  20. I'll wait patiently.
Your assignment is of course more important!!

  21. And thank you again for helping me, I owe you a lot!
